Working in mainly in film photography, Andrew Morgan's work is a vehicle to share his view of the world. His photography is centered on capturing what he sees and not necessarily all of what is actually present. The result is his creation of dream-like images for others to share his perspective. Often drawn to textures, contour lines, shapes and ratios, Andrew's final images, heavily saturated and steeped with contrast, explore combined concepts of solitude, sadness, loneliness, abandonment, peacefulness, desire, and death and are intended to evoke personal contemplation from the viewer.
Andrew casts life into his images by capturing light, richly saturated colors and atmospheric conditions. His focuses include abandoned homes, agricultural buildings, junkyards and open farm lands throughout rural Virginia. In a recent project, Beyond the Garden, Andrew captures the decaying city of his youth, Binghamton, New York.
Andrew currently lives in Sperryville, Virginia. His work has shown in galleries in Manhattan, Scottsdale, Philadelphia and throughout Virginia.
